X-BIONIC and Tine Holst at the ironman South Africa

Triathlete Tina Holst is now even faster than ever thanks to X-BIONIC. Only three months after an operation on her cruciate ligament, the outstanding athlete from Denmark is back and training 30 hours a week for her first objective of the year – the ironman South Africa. After taking first place first at the ironman Barcelona 2009 she joined the X-BIONIC Worldmaster Team and says of the Swiss equipment manufacturer: “Their clothing has made a big difference – it’s fantastic. I'm really grateful to have such good support for my 2010 objectives!”.   She has been enjoying the revolutionary benefits of X-BIONIC’s Partial Kompression, which combines the advantages of conventional compression with a cooling function. Given that athletes use up to 97 % of energy to maintain an optimal body temperature at 37 °C, Partial Kompression is particularly effective. This has been proven by Professor Dr. Winfried Joch, Institute of Sport Sciences at the University of Münster and Dr. Sandra Ückert, sports science specialist at the Technical University of Dortmund. More effective cooling = More energy.   Unlike other equipment, X-BIONIC® does not deliberately move sweat away from the skin. Instead it harnesses it to cool the blood and the body. Special designed material structures and a patented 3D-BionicSphere® System spread a thin layer of sweat over the skin, so that evaporation can perform its targeted cooling function. This helps to body to maintain an optimum temperature of 37 °C, enhancing performance. The decisive advantages provided by Partial Kompression have also been demonstrated by the multiple Emmy Award-winning American television programme ‘Sport Science’ from FOX TV. The renowned Swiss Federal Material Testing and Research Institute EMPA (Eidgenössische Materialprüfungs- und Forschungsanstalt) has also conducted tests to demonstrate how X-BIONIC turns sweat into energy.
