He is regarded as a rider of the future. With his 21 years Simon Scheiber has progressed in the sport of mountain biking. Born in Sölden/Austria he is Austrian champion of the under 23 category in XCO. Furthermore he achieved the 21st place at the U23 World Championships in Canberra/Australia.
Scheiber is happy about his engagement with the FELT ÖTZTAL X-BIONIC Worldcup Team: „I`m very excited about the upcoming season. With the professional conditions of the new team I hope to defend my national title. I also want to reach the Top 50 in World Cup and finish Top 10 in U23.“
It`s not a big surprise that Scheiber is a competitive sportsman. His older brother Florian belongs to Austria´s biggest talents in skiing. Last season Florian won the European Cup, and since 2009 he is part of the Austrian World Cup Team. He has also discovered his enthusiasm in mountain biking and uses his bike for training reasons.
Like his brother, Simon would like to reach the top of his sport. In his leisure time Simon Scheiber likes skiing, jogging and going to the cinema.
„I`m very happy that we were able to engage a young talented rider. Simon has already demonstrated that he has talent. We are confident that he has a chance of making the Olympics in London 2012“, commented Jörg Scheiderbauer, sports director of FELT ÖTZTAL X-BIONIC Worldcup Team.
